Ну, не прошло и недели, как почта вроде заработала на новом месте. Эту неделю я не скучал, она прошла в увлекательнейшей переписке с ребятами со старого хостинга. Ребята эти болгары; хостинг у них был дешевый, но, как выяснилось, в плане регистрации домена они выступали как посредник с каким-то оптоеым регистратором. В результате, с передачей домена произошел полный бардак; долгое время никто не мог понять, что с ним происходит, переводится ли он, и куда.
Приведу образчик эпистолярного жанра, являющийся репрезентативным примером их творчества:

Today's top headline on Yahoo news: Fed finds signs that economy's plunge leveling off.
So, things are not good. And things are not getting better - they are getting worse. But not as fast as they used to! The second derivative is positive! Yay!
Heh, while I was writing this they changed the actual article's title to "Fed survey finds faint signs of hope." But the first two sentences are still full of resounding optimism: The Federal Reserve said Wednesday there are some faint signs the steep plunge in economic activity that began last fall is starting to level off.
The Fed's latest survey of business conditions nationwide found five of its 12 regional banks reporting a moderation in the pace of the economic decline.
That last phrase is especially telling: what it means is that 7 out of 12 regional banks report things getting worse faster than before! So, yeah, good news, everyone. |

People don't seem to like fish. They're slithery and slimy, and they have eyes on either side of their pointy little heads—which is weird, to say the least. Plus, the small ones nibble at your feet when you're swimming, and the big ones—well, the big ones will bite your face off if Jaws is anything to go by.
Of course, if you look at it another way, what all this really means is that fish need to fire their PR guy—stat. Whoever was in charge of creating a positive image for fish needs to go right back to working on the Britney Spears account and leave our scaly little friends alone. You've done enough damage, buddy. We've got it from here. And we're going to start by retiring the old name for good. When your name can also be used as a verb that means driving a hook through your head, it's time for a serious image makeover. And who could possibly want to put a hook through a sea kitten?
